Villa in Minorca, Spain

When we arrived at our rental in Minorca, we immediately explored our new home for the week. The kids zoomed full speed up the steps to the roof, and here we got our initial glimpse of the amazing ocean and lighthouse views. We would spend our mornings sipping coffee on the rooftop deck, sometimes playing Connect 4 (sadly, my children beat me a few times and loved doing it- Lilly even exclaimed, “Mom, why did you make that move!?!). I could not get over the gorgeous color palettes-the blues of the sky and ocean, and the bright colors of the flowers around the home.

I loved this lemon tree growing right outside of our rental. I wish I lived somewhere where lemon trees grow year-round. It was so easy to grab one and add a little bit of lemon juice to our water each day.

It was April and not quite summer season yet in Spain. We uncovered the pool, but it was freezing. My kids and crazy husband ventured in briefly, but they didn’t last long. You may want to consider renting a place with a pool in summer, but it is definitely not necessary if you are traveling this time of year.

One morning a unique ship sailed by, and we all thought it looked like a pirate ship. We watched it sail past the lighthouse until it disappeared behind the castle. Not sure if we will ever know what it was transporting.
